Every now and then I’ll be connected to a server on my Mac with a very specific volume mounted, but then it doesn’t appear anywhere in Finder. When I try to reconnect to it, it’s grayed out, as if I was connected after all.

For a while, the only way I knew how to fix it was to restart, but that’s obviously most inconvenient.
Mac Os Catalina
- Coordinated closely with Readiness teams for the complex AppleCare support transition from Mac OS 9 to Mac OS X. Project managed the Austin delivery of initial Mac OS X training to all tech.
- Mac’s version is a bit more systemwide, with some older Windows dialogs still not darkened. The Windows 10 May 2019 Update adds a Custom option, which lets you decide whether you want dark.
Turns out, there is quite a simple solution, and that is to unmount the volume via the command line.
Open up Terminal and type in the following:
Replacing “NameOfVolume” with your volume’s name. After you hit ENTER, type in your Mac’s password when prompted.
Once that’s done, reconnect to the server in Finder (COMMAND + K), select the volume that was previously grayed out, mount it, and now it’ll be in Finder again for you to browse.

The Deliverer Mac Os 11
Annotations of The Deliverer by Tishani Doshi
Summary of the poem:
The Deliverer Book
Title: Could have multiple meanings: the one giving birth to babies, or the one who hands them to new homes.
Tone: Mainly clinical and emotionless, the only emotions being the crying in the USA. In India it seems like they are unable to cry, but go through the process of giving birth like it’s a ritual.
Summary: Starts at a convent (a Christian community). Talks about the infanticide of baby girls in India. Family bonds are ambiguous in the poem BUT: narrator’s mother is the one who brings the baby from the nun to her foster parents. Ultimately, it is hard to place blame as in the last part women are seen to be at the mercy of patriarchy.
How To Get The Deliverer
Structure: In the beginning, mostly stanzas of 3 lines. But towards the end, dwindles to 2 lines, then finally to 1. Perhaps to reflect the deterioration of spirit and wellbeing.
Themes: Family, Gender roles, Contemporary issues, guilty
Devices used: Pun (sister could refer to the nun, but also to the speaker and the lost baby), enjambment, semantic field of ‘hiding’. Figurative and descriptive language are largely absent, to shed light on the harsh reality.
